Make-a-Wish seeks art. Artisans Market seeks artists. And we have calls for the Emerging Artist scholarship and a River Arts Exhibition. The February Art Walk takes over downtown. Carol Ann Jones (twice), Jenni Johnson, Nightrain, Erin Cassels-Brown, Cooie and Robin, Remedy, Will Patton, and Yankee Chank all have gigs. The First Brew Haha, a TNT Comedy Showcase, the Pets Love and Fashion Show, and the Winter Is A Drag Ball come to a stage near you. There are even Parenting Workshops. Continue reading
Artbits-December 3, 2015
The Artist in Residence Cooperative Gallery may close at the end of the month, never to see 2016, unless we all make a miracle keep them open. The gallery has maybe its last free meet-the-artists reception. The Festival of Trees brings out music and art and trees. Nobby Reed Project, Close to Nowhere, Justin Panigutti, the Missisquoi River Band, the Opera House Christmas Concert, the Vermont International Festival all find stages. With studios open around the state plus four big shows locally, this very Fall-like weekend is perfect for art hopping. At least seven studios are open in Franklin County. The unveiling gala for the Raid Calendar has art, music, and more. There is Art4Show, art in the AIR, the hospital. Jack Grimmer, Deja Nous, Nobby Reed perform; Missisquoi River Band does it twice.
