VERMONT MAPLE FESTIVAL — 50 YEARS OF GOLDEN SWEETNESS

“We’re going Vermont-centric for the 50th,” Andre Maquera said. “We’ll try to keep it as close to home.” Run by Andre Maquera of West Street Digital, the Supercharged Main Street Stage will showcase the best local entertainers for an international audience of about 50,000. The incredible Main Street lineup includes Jamie Lee, Chris & Erica, the Contois School of Music Band. the Electric Youth Dance Company, Steve Hartmann, the Keeghan Nolan Band, Rockin’ Ron The Friendly Pirate, and winners from the Youth Talent Show. Carol Ann Jones will supercharge the weekend. And there are a photo contest, chainsaw art, the annual Crafts and Specialty Foods Show, the parade, and so much more. Read more

Good news! The Artist In Residence Gallery, one of the high points of the Franklin County art scene for a decade, is back, baby! The Vermont Humanities Council has started Standing Together, two new Veterans Book Groups to read the stuff that bubbles up memories, provokes them sometimes, and then talk about it in a group that’s safe.
