FESTIVAL OF TREES

Corliss Blakely of St. Albans has donated a Christmas tree with 33 original paintings to the Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees includes an Opening Gala plus a Christmas parade, Santa’s Workshop, the Sugar Plum Fairies, and hourly entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Read more

GIVING THANKS

At Thanksgiving time, I ask area artists to share what they are grateful for at this time of year. This was a hard year for our artists. The economy made a serious dent in the ability of many of our community to make a living.

One of the usual punchlines here in the Vermont artistic community is set up with the question, “how can you tell a successful Vermont artist?”

The answers usually include, “One with a day job.” Read more
