Artist Gail Salzman has two opening receptions. SAC hosts Crafts. Carol Ann Jones, Jenni Johnson and Friends, Justice, the Contois School of Music Band, Cooie, and Jack Grimmer play different stages. We have calls for Focal Point, Recycled, Repurposed, Recovered, and Cell Phone Photography. We have the Northwest Nightmares Film Festival, a Sip and Paint event, and Word!Craft. Travel a little for some American Pie. On stage around the county we find Justice, the Twiggs Up in Flames show, the 7th annual Blue Jean Ball, and the U.S. Air Force Concert Band and the Singing Sergeants. October is National Arts and Humanities Month. The Opera House presents The Nerd. Jenni Johnson and Friends, Carol Ann Jones, Nobby Reed, Paul Reiser, Will Patton, Deja Nous, Isaac and Dominic French, Vermont Has Talent, and a songwriting workshop are all on stage somewhere. We have calls for the Tapped exhibit, the juried Craftys Awards, Swanton Arts Council, and the Portrait Society of America. Teen Read Week begins Sunday. The Highgate Public Library has stories x 2 and St. Albans Free Library wants you for all day. Continue reading

The Big Music Weeks of Summer bring out Branded for Summer Sounds plus Nobby Reed Karlo & Carolyn, IncaHoots, Will Patton, Frevo, Woods Tea Company, Justice, and Dark Horse. It’s A Chair Affair put brightly painted Adirondack chairs around downtown St. Albans. We have calls for really affordable art, self-published ebooks, and small art for a big cause. Continue reading
