It’s the last full day of Summer. There are three Paint and Sip style events. Arts Council meetings, and a toe-tapping good Contra Dance. The Austin Piazzolla Quintet, Jenni Johnson and the Jazz Junketeers, Bethany Conner & Friends, and the Bob Mackenzie Trio, Roy and the Wrecks, the Robin Gottfried Band, Carol Ann Jones with Will Patton, the Bandade Fall Tour, Isaac French with Michael Brewster, Tony Whedon, Dawn Reno Langley, and Janis Raffauf Hess all take the stage. Twiggs has comedy. We have calls for NW Nightmares, the TAM over 60 Art Competition, and the Endangered Fine Art and Photography Contest. And book reports, too. Continue reading

The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue with a huge lineup including the Summer Sounds season finale with Mark Shelton. Chris & Erica, Will Patton and Mark Struhsacker, the Nobby Reed Project twice, Jenni Johnson, Sergio Torres, Cooper and Lavoie, AmerikanaBlue, Frevo, Shake, Donna Thunder and the Storm, Art DeQuasie and Dayve Huckett, Fossil Fuel Band and the MoFo’s, and the Irregulars. There are Laughs For Larry and an Island Arts centennial.
David Winchester and Mike Barkyoumb exhibit. There’s a Paint and Sip, an art workshop, and a $30,000 grant. Continue reading

The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue. The Hokum Bros. live and in color are the Summer Sounds Surprise. David Rosane and the Zookeepers, Kylie, Will Patton and Mark Struhsacker, Carol Ann Jones & The Superchargers, the Ellen Powell Trio, Shane Murley, the Thea Wren Trio, Rushmore, Ben Guihan, the 40th Army Band, the Missisquoi River Band, the Vermont Jazz Ensemble, and the Citizens Concert Band all have gigs. There’s a Girls Rock Showcase, a Tribute to Brooke Ostrander, and more. Art lovers have a Pop Up Pop In gallery, the 9th annual Festival of the Arts, an Evening of Creative Crafts and Craft Beer and a Chair Affair. The SAC Writer’s Group meets. Continue reading
