The Big Music Weeks of Summer start with a bang today. The All Arts Council and the Town of Highgate bring the 25th Summer Sounds back home to Highgate. A&M Rocks, AnimA, Michele Choiniere, the Citizens Concert Band, Coon Hill John, Dayve Huckett, Carol Ann Jones and the Superchargers, Justice, Will Patton, the Nobby Reed Project, Sammich, Them Nakeds, and the Woods Tea Company find stages all over. The Rocky Horror Picture Show has a live cast. And in visual arts, it’s Sidewalk Chalk Day and the Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Jennifer Theoret. Continue reading

Karen Scheffler tells Your Story Is Art and AIR artists Toby Fulwiler, Pamela Krout-Voss, and Jo Anne Wazny have a reception. Mango Jam, Chasing 440, the Padula/Thunder/Martin Trio, the Will Patton Ensemble, Carol Ann Jones (twice), Nobby Reed, Jerry Thigpen, Vern Colburn, Isaac and Dominic French, the CSM Band, and the Citizens Concert Band all perform at nearby venues.
