Franklin County lost a friend of the arts on Sunday when Lyle Glidden passed away at home. Art on the Refuge takes over the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge. The Emerging Artist Award and the final SAC Artist Gathering this season are imminent. Carol Ann Jones Scott DuBois and Ryan Hanson, the Smokey Newfield Project, Melting Point, and the Nobby Reed Project take the stage. Open Band Night is back. Li’l Abner needs a cast. ArtBits is changing big time, you betcha. Young Tradition Weekend brings together a young performers for song, performance, and dance. The Swanton Arts Council will gather three major events. The Derby Day Auction and Fundraiser has a lot more art than Churchill Downs. Corliss Blakely and David Juaire do art. The Swanton Arts Council has TP roll flowers, pinwheel prep and an Artist Gathering. The Nobby Reed Project, Joseph Fuller, the Thera Wren Quartet, and Justice have gigs. Music is Vermont-centric on the Supercharged Main Street Stage and there will be photos, chainsaws, crafts, specialty foods, the parade, and so much more for the 50th Vermont Maple Fest.
