I’ll be “off the grid” for my road trip for a few more weeks. ArtBits will continue. Halloween in the Park takes over Swanton. Swanee: Vengeance Takes Flight. An Archie Fisher House Concert, Kari Beth and Michael Albee, Coon Hill John, Justice, and the Advance Music Singer/Songwriter Contest all take the stage. OHEF will hold A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol auditions. We have calls for amateur photographers, the Sedona art prize, and the National Geographic. Continue reading

The Northwest Nightmares Haunted Hollywood Premiere & Costume Contest and the annual Blue Jean Ball open. Carol Ann Jones, Alan Reid and Rob van Sante, Andric Severance, Bethany Conner, Will Patton and Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats all perform. We have the Art Abandonment and links to other events. I’m off on a road trip but there is plenty of art. Dynamic Duos, has adult Superhero- and Supervillain-themed costumes with music and art. Artists Steve Boal, Shanna Ratner, El Towle, Deborah Travis, and Open Studio are all in the spotlight. Swanton is just Ducky. The Nobby Reed Project, the Lonesome Mountain Boys with Will Patton, The Duel, the Smokey Newfield Project, Inseldudler, Bucky Lewis, and Carol Ann Jones all have shows. Bess O’Brien’s film All of Me is screened. It’s Tractor Day, books get donated and Humanities are for Everyone at our libraries. Continue reading

National Arts In Education Week begins. The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts David J. Griggs in a solo show and the NVAA is on exhibit at the old Red Mill. SAC has a busy week planned. The Wing Walkers, Cooper & LaVoie, Rosie & Trevor, Carol Ann Jones, and Missisquoi River Band have gigs. Comedy For A Cause continues. Libraries share (and butcher) books, make Fall Leaf Pendants, fermenting vegetables, watch movies. Continue reading

The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue. Summer Sounds presents the Christopher Dean Band. Barbie-N-Bones, Jenni Johnson, Bob Young, the Smokey Newfield Project, Chris and Erica, Justice, Carol Ann Jones and Will Patton twice, the Nobby Reed Project, Rushmore, the Vermont Fiddle Orchestra, and Comedy For A Cause all take to a stage near you. FCTC celebrates 25. The Opera House needs stars. St. Albans has Chairs and Swanton has Nightmares. Bitter Losses premieres. And there will be Book Butchering! Continue reading

The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue with shows all over. Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing plays Summer Sounds. Chris and Erica, Bethany Conner, Jenni, Justice, Keeghan Nolan, Will Patton and Mark Struhsacker, the Nobby Reed Project, Ryan and Slim, Shellhouse, Starline Rhythm Boys, and Village Harmony all have shows, too. There’s a free meet-the-artists reception for Eddie Gagne, Paule Gingras, Kelly Shawyer, and Deb Shell as well as Art in the Park and a Paint & Sip. Plans for National Night Out.
