October is National Arts and Humanities Month. The Opera House presents The Nerd. Jenni Johnson and Friends, Carol Ann Jones, Nobby Reed, Paul Reiser, Will Patton, Deja Nous, Isaac and Dominic French, Vermont Has Talent, and a songwriting workshop are all on stage somewhere. We have calls for the Tapped exhibit, the juried Craftys Awards, Swanton Arts Council, and the Portrait Society of America. Teen Read Week begins Sunday. Summer Sounds is resting up for the big 25th Anniversary Festival next month but there is still plenty of music playing: No Left Turn, Carol Ann Jones with Will Patton, Woods Tea Company, the Rose Wharf Band, Missisquoi River Band, Bob Young, Vern Colburn, Elliott Johnson, the 5th annual Cambridge Music Festival, and an Open Mic night.
