I’ll be “off the grid” for my road trip for a few more weeks. ArtBits will continue. The Concert for Grumpy Grownups series brought the VYO Winter Concert to the MVU stage. The Artist In has a reception, the Milton Artists Guild has a Holiday Artfest, and River Arts holds Viva Las Artes. A Writer’s Group meets. The Nobby Reed Project, Pierre Chartrand, Alexis Chartrand and Nicolas Babineau, Carol Ann Jones and her Trio, Roy Hurd. Giovanina Bucci, Arthur James, the Will Patton Quartet and Carol and Will together all take the stage. Nanowrimo calls writers. Continue reading

Artbits-October 6, 2016
I’m off on a road trip but there is plenty of art. Dynamic Duos, has adult Superhero- and Supervillain-themed costumes with music and art. Artists Steve Boal, Shanna Ratner, El Towle, Deborah Travis, and Open Studio are all in the spotlight. Swanton is just Ducky. The Nobby Reed Project, the Lonesome Mountain Boys with Will Patton, The Duel, the Smokey Newfield Project, Inseldudler, Bucky Lewis, and Carol Ann Jones all have shows. Bess O’Brien’s film All of Me is screened. It’s Tractor Day, books get donated and Humanities are for Everyone at our libraries. Continue reading

The 2016 Fall Open Studio is here. St. Albans Community Arts hosts the first SACA Arts Mixer. The Vermont Youth Orchestra, the Bob Mackenzie Blues Trio, John Smyth, Justice , Pete’s Posse, a Young Tradition Showcase, the Nobby Reed Project, and Comedy For A Cause all find stages. The Penny Candle begins. Engaging the Arts in Heart and Soul is a free, call-in talk. Libraries have To Bid or Not to Bid?, Tractor Day, and the Watercolor Paint and Sip party. Continue reading

There’s a Costumed Gala and an NVAA exhibit. Deja Nous, Daniel Rahilly and Ty Cicia, Patti Casey and Tom Mackenzie, the Nobby Reed Project, Ian MacHarg and Hazen Metro with the Heather Morris Celtic Dancers, Prydein, and Yankee Chank all perform. We have calls from NEFA, the Prize for Illustration, and SSAC. You can drive a Ford and raise some bucks. And a library has a lecture on what people get wrong about guns. Continue reading

National Arts In Education Week begins. The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts David J. Griggs in a solo show and the NVAA is on exhibit at the old Red Mill. SAC has a busy week planned. The Wing Walkers, Cooper & LaVoie, Rosie & Trevor, Carol Ann Jones, and Missisquoi River Band have gigs. Comedy For A Cause continues.
