Will the arts be represented? Swanton wants to know. Artists Barbara Colgrove, Ann Levy, Patrick Murphy, Eric Smith, and Sally Tarr have shows. The Swanton Arts Council has two get-togethers. There is an evening of bird tales, a dance and story telling. The Nobby Reed Project twice, Chris & Erica, Jeff Shelley, Carol Ann Jones, and Molsky’s Mountain Drifters all appear on stage. The Wyeths, First Family of American Art. St. Albans Community Arts and Swanton Arts Council have program meetings, a Writer’s Group, a hangout and more. There is instruction for the Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Graziano Schofield & Slim, Bardela, Carol Ann Jones and Jon Sochin, Full Tilt, the Will Patton Quartet, and the Young Tradition Touring Group all perform. The Swanton Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) certification now! We find David Juaire, Cathy LaClair, and Linda Wirts on the walls. The SAC Writer’s Group has a longer project. The Nobby Reed Project, Jesse and Dave, Ryan and Slim, Carol Anne Jones take to different stages. There are True Tales from Local Storytellers on separate nights and First Step Dance holds the first St. Albans group class of the year. Looking forward, 2017 will offer 250 concerts, exhibits, recitals, and shows from more than 40 organizations. Continue reading
